Our team

After finishing Auckland Unitec in 1991 David worked for his uncle's Design and Build Company for 2 years. After 2 years living in Seattle and Los Angeles, David returned to found DMG Architecture. Working from the basement of the family home and specialising in residential housing and renovations, business quickly grew until 1997 when he travelled to Edinburgh to play rugby for a year. In this year worked for Forgan and Stewart Architects and travelled through Europe and the UK revelling in the history of architecture.

After returning to DMG Architecture David refocused on a more bespoke architecture with a interest in concrete and masonry construction.

In 2015 David joined forces with Trevor to form arcreate in Orewa.

Trevor has over 25 years of Architectural experience, primarily in residential architecture with a few forays into commercial work. Trevor holds a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours from Auckland University, graduating in 1998. With extensive local experience and knowledge he is committed to providing innovative and creative, yet practical solutions for your next project.

A professional member of ADNZ since 2011, Trevor is on the Regional Executive and undertakes new member assessments for the organisation.

Away from the office, as well as a husband and father of two, Trevor enjoys competing in Masters Athletics, recently completing a Decathlon at the World Masters Championship in Perth.

John has over 20 years work experience as an architectural technician, working both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

After training in New Zealand and working on a number of commercial jobs, John changed his focus to the residential sector. John has spent the majority of his career working on a large variety of residential projects, from small alterations to high-end single houses and multi-unit developments.

John has a particular interest in sustainable and low energy demand housing.

Harry is a third-year student at Unitec, and will complete his Bachelor of Architecture in 2020 and will go on to do his Masters of Architecture.

Harry is now enjoying being able to put the theory from study into practice and being able to create spaces that meet the brief and in future aspires to push his boundaries to design unique projects for clients.

When not studying or working Harry lives local, enjoys regular cross fit sessions and IRB racing for Red Beach Surf Club.
