A beautiful, sheltered, pohutakawa-lined beach, Tindalls Bay was originally developed as a holiday destination for city folk. Now gobbled up by urban sprawl, the small baches and cribs have largely given way to substantial permanent homes, with a loss of the relaxed holiday built character. Our project purpose was to provide additional space for a growing young family, while striving to retain the relaxed feeling of a bach/beach house.
The existing 2 bedroom 78m²dwelling, constructed in 2005 was always intended to be stage 1 of this later project. The cross lease site is just 300m2. Privacy from neighbours was critical, whilst maintaining the visual and physical connection to the sea and landscape.
